Port Rowan

On the shores of Long Point Bay in Port Rowan, Ontario, this contemporary lakefront residence shows what NewTechWood fluted cladding can do at architectural scale. Designed by SMPL Design, the home stacks clean rectangular volumes against the water and the autumn treeline, with every exterior surface wrapped in NewTechWood Norwegian fluted siding in Silver Gray.

The vertical fluted profile gives the façade a deep, rhythmic shadow line that shifts with the light, warm and bronzed at sunset, cool and silvered under midday sky. The Silver Gray tone reads as a soft, weathered driftwood gray that grounds the home in its waterfront setting while staying crisp against black-framed windows and dark trim. Carried continuously across the main volumes, the upper cube, and the sheltered entry soffit, the cladding unifies the architecture into a single sculptural form. The same material language extends to the rooftop terrace, where composite decking and glass railings open the living space to uninterrupted views across the bay.
